This painting is called Snowy Night. The artist behind this painting is my classmate Brittany Truong. They used a complementary color system of blue and orange. A variety of  triangles and squares and circles were used in the piece. These shapes come together to make a winter wonderland. They use lines to being focus to their main focus and it invites your eyes across the entire painting. The textures show how leafy the trees are and how fluffy the snow is. Snowy Night evokes a peaceful feeling telling to relax. The building is the most important part, because it tells you that there warmth in this cold outside. Snowy Night tells me to come inside to the warmth and relax. I like how this painting blends the colors to create a smooth texture. The artist did the tree texture the best. I dislike how the bushes look. If I were the artist I would make the warm light spread more to make the message more prominent.

"Clown" - Peer Review

This painting is called Clown. The artist who made artwork is named Hanna from my painting 2 class. The purpose behind this piece was to show their past fears of clowns. This message was conveyed very well with uneasy contrast between the realistic clown and the very 2d background. It truly is meant to pull out the most fear from the clown. I think they can add darker shading to the shadows to make it look even more 3d.

 "Horizon Discovery" - Self Reflection

The main Inspiration for this piece is the mountains in Venezuela and storm clouds. The main part of my research were land formation and mountains in Venezuela. I used acrylic and sharpie pen with drastically different styles to create contrast between what's in reality and what is to come. I want them to see a journey and an uncertain future with infinite possibilities. The biggest problem I faced was the shading on the mountains and figuring out how my light source would interact with the map. A big decision I faced was whether to paint the background black or keep it white or some other alternative. I believe I could have done more with the background and blended the map into the clouds a bit more. I would have done this to add more meaning and to make the transition easier on the eyes. The most successful part of this piece is the stylized clouds I really like how they contrast with the map.
